Cătălin D. Teniță is an MP in the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament, in the 2020-2024 legislature. 

A law graduate and entrepreneur, Teniță was actively involved in civil society, being the co-founder and president of Geeks 4 Democracy, an organization that pursues sustainable evolution and political change in Romania, and later decided to get involved in politics. In 2019 he was selected for the Eisenhower Global Fellowships program.

In the Chamber of Deputies, Teniță is part of two Committees and three Subcommittees:

The Committee on Human Rights, Religions and Issues of National Minorities, the Committee on Culture, Arts, Mass Media, the Subcommittee on Civil Society (Chair), the Subcommittee for the Monitoring and Defence of the Rights and Freedoms of Romanian Citizens of Roma ethnicity and the Joint Standing Committee for the relationship with UNESCO. He is also the founding member of the Romanian EPF parliamentary branch.

 

 

The launch of the 2nd EPF/ECO HPV Prevention Policy Atlas was hosted by Catalin Tenita, MP and Chair of the Romanian All Party Parliamentary Group on Population and Development, on 22 June in collaboration with ECO and the European Parliamentary Forum on Sexual and Reproductive Rights (EPF).  

This special launch event brought together Members of Parliament, government officials, academia and civil society to identify policies aimed at increasing HPV vaccination, screening, and public awareness in Romania. This is part of ECO’s advocacy campaign HPV Action Romania, to be launched in the next few months.
