Nicola Richards MP currently serves as Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to the Leader of the House of Commons, the Rt. Hon. Penny Mordaunt MP.
Since being elected to Parliament, she has been a member of both the Education Select Committee and the Women and Equalities Select Committee. She is currently the Conservative Party’s representative on the International Young Democratic Union. After graduating from the University of Birmingham, Nicola worked in public relations for the Jewish Leadership Council and the Holocaust Educational Trust.’
Cancer work:
As part of her work on tackling cancer, Nicola recently hosted a Westminster Hall debate in Parliament on the future of cancer care and attended a roundtable discussion on this in No. 10 Downing Street.
As vice-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on breast cancer, she regularly works with colleagues in government and parliament to tackle this and improve outcomes for patients. Nicola has spoken in the House of Commons about her family’s first-hand experiences of breast cancer, powerfully making the argument that ‘Cancer outcomes are not just statistics’ while urging the government to always do the most it can to tackle this terrible disease.
