Martyn Day is a Scottish National Party (SNP) Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency of Linlithgow and East Falkirk, a position he has held continuously since May 7th, 2015. Prior to his election to Parliament, Martyn was a councillor for 17 years, serving his community at the local level.
Currently, Martyn Day is serving as the Shadow SNP Spokesperson for Health and Social Care, drawing on his extensive experience in this area. He is also a member of the Health and Social Care Committee, where he has been able to advocate for important healthcare issues affecting his constituents and the wider Scottish population.
In addition to his role in the Shadow Cabinet, Martyn Day is also a member of the Petitions Committee, where he has been able to lead debates on a wide range of important issues. He is an active participant in several All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs), including those focused on human rights, cancer, and animal welfare, allowing him to contribute to the development of legislation and policy initiatives in a variety of areas.
