Kim Benstead

Chair, Accreditation Council of Oncology in Europe (ACOE), and Co-Chair, INTERACT Europe project

Dr. Benstead is a consultant clinical oncologist at Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust. As chair of the Currriculum Committee for The European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO), she led on the development of the 4th edition of the ESTRO Radiation Oncology/Radiotherapy Core Curriculum which was endorsed by 29 National Societies and adopted as the European Training Requirement by the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS). This was followed by the development of a Clinical Oncology Module for the core curriculum describing competences required for the delivery of systemic anti-cancer treatments. She was a director of the International Foundations in Leadership Course for oncologists, radiation technicians and physicists with faculty from Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. She was secretary to the Radiation Oncology Section of UEMS and chair of the Accreditation Council of Oncology in Europe (ACOE). She is Co-Chair of the INTERACT-Europe group who are developing an inter-specialty cancer training programme in response to Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.
