Kjeld Hansen is an asthma patient and patient ambassador, who has been collaborating with the European Lung Foundation (ELF) for the past 10 years. Kjeld is currently serving in the roles, amongst others, as Chair of the European Lung Foundation, member of the Executive Committee of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and member of the ERS Digital Health group.
Kjeld is currently serving as a patient content associated editor of Breathe and an associate editor of the ERS Respiratory Channel. He has authored several articles on patients, health information and similar topics. Kjeld is also a frequent speaker and co-chair at conference sessions and webinars incl. at ERS Congress and at the EU Health Policy Platform.
During his collaboration with ELF, Kjeld has worked on projects such as the European Patient Ambassador Programme (EPAP), European Asthma Research and Innovation Partnership (EARIP) and European Translational Information & Knowledge Management Services (eTRIKS). Kjeld is a keen runner and has participated in several marathons and trail races some of which have been documented by ERS Vision. He was acknowledged as a co-awardee of the ELF Award as a lung champion in 2012.
Kjeld is an Assistant Professor at the Mobile Technologies Lab at the Department of Technology at Kristiania University College, Norway, a researcher at the Centre of Business Data Analytics and a member of the Digital Health research group at the Department of Digitalization of the Copenhagen Business School, Denmark.
As a researcher, Kjeld is particularly interested in researching social media, collaborative work, automation, health information and digital health. He has published on activity data from wearable devices, the sharing of health information on social media and more recently on the human aspect of automatization. Kjeld's work is often positioned in interdisciplinary settings within a socio-technical tradition.
