Bertrand De Meulder

Senior Researcher, European Institute for Systems Biology and Medicine Projects Team (EISBM)

He holds Masters degrees in Ecotoxicology from the University of Namur (Belgium) and in Bioinformatics and modelling from the Free University of Brussels (Belgium), as well as a PhD in cancer & metastasis biology and data analysis from the University of Namur (Belgium, 2013). He joined the EISBM team as a researcher in October 2013 to develop the toolbox for data integration and handprints generation in the U-BIOPRED project and has worked in the eTRIKS project to provide this expertise to IMI and non-IMI supported projects. As a member of the European Respiratory Society (ERS), he coordinated in March 2016 the Lung Science Conference and was an invited speaker at its annual international congress in Milan (Italy) in September 2017. He has also organized the first ERS seminar on systems biology and medicine in respiratory diseases in October 2017. Dr De Meulder is the technical coordinator and a WP lead in the IMI projects PIONEER and OPTIMA.
