Kateřina Kepáková is a social scientist and coordinator of research and projects in childhood cancer survivorship at the Late-Effects Clinic for childhood cancer survivors in Brno, Czech Republic.
She is member of PanCare (Pan-European Network for Care of Survivors after Childhood and Adolescent Cancer). She has coordinated initiatives that seek to gain insight into the medical, psychological and social late effects of childhood cancer and survivor needs, with the ultimate goal of improving care and services for childhood cancer survivors and their quality of life, and harmonising access to care and services across Europe.
Her research coordination work focuses on building the evidence base on late effects of cancer, harmonising data sets and protecting health data. In the smartCARE project, she coordinated in particular the transfer of clinical expertise and technical knowledge from the Survivorship Passport and Clinical Decision Support System into the development of the app. She is member of the patient association Together Towards a Smile and keen patient advocate.
