Stephen was diagnosed with stage 3C colorectal cancer in 2015. He soon discovered there was a family history of the disease. He became involved in cancer rehabilitation and then in local patient advocacy. During COVID he established a UK wide, online colorectal cancer support group which now has more than 5,500 members.
Stephen’s varied career has equipped him with a bag full of transferable skills which are now employed in cancer patient advocacy through Independent Cancer Patient Voice, NHS, Digestive Cancers Europe, Inspire 2 Live and research (including GUIDE.MRD and EOSC4Cancer). Main areas of interest: improving early diagnosis, genomics, IT and patient support.
