Dave Chuter, Oesophageal-gastric cancer survivor

Dave Chuter is an Oesophageal-gastric cancer survivor, diagnosed and treated in 2006, since then he has supported other patients and their families through the patient support group set up in the same year, eating and nutrition is on the agenda for all new patients at the group.

From the support group, Dave has got involved with research as a patient advocate to help researchers understand the lived experience of patients when designing studies, be it clinical or non-clinical the patient voice is needed.

Dave is the Vice-Chair of Digestive Cancers Europe and chairs the Patient Advisory Committee, he helps ensure that the charity is patient driven for the benefit of patients in all the work we do.
He is involved with other organisations such as WCRF (World Cancer Research Fund) and ICPV (Independent Cancer Patients' Voice).
