Andreas Brandl

Andreas Brandl, MD, FEBS (Surg Onc), MBA is the Lead Consultant in Surgical Oncology at Krankenhaus Nordwest Frankfurt and Associate Professor at Heidelberg University, Germany. He leads multidisciplinary programmes in oesophagogastric, pancreatic, liver, and peritoneal malignancies and serves as Head of Clinical Research in Surgery. His research focuses on gastrointestinal cancers, peritoneal metastases, and innovative treatment strategies, resulting in 180+ peer-reviewed publications. Dr Brandl is Co-Chair of the Education and Training Committee of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) and serves on the Editorial Boards of BJS Open and the European Journal of Surgical Oncology (EJSO). He is actively involved in several European initiatives promoting interdisciplinary cancer care, education, research, and innovation across Europe.
