Sofia Ramalho

Sofia Ramalho is a fifth-year Medical Oncology resident at the Champalimaud Clinical and Research Center, where she is building expertise in lung and breast cancers. Passionate about improving the lives of people affected by cancer, Sofia focuses her work on early-stage disease and the ways in which treatment can be made not only more effective but also more personalized.

In the future she aims to develop trials exploring the role of non-pharmacological interventions—especially physical exercise—as a means to enhance the effects of neoadjuvant immunotherapy. She is equally interested in biomarker assessment to tailor adjuvant therapy – either escalate or de-escalate.

Through this work, she aims to help shape the future of oncology.
