Partner Initiatives
ECO partners with several organisations across Europe to ensure that accurate, up-to-date information on cancer is readily availble for policymakers and healthcare reseachers. The following initaitives not only provide data for the European Cancer Pulse, but also collobrate with ECO to provide new, user-friendly resources for anyone interested in the state of European cancer care.
European Cancer Inequalities Registry (ECIR)
The European Cancer Inequalities Registry is a flagship initiative of Europe's Beating Cancer Plan. It provides sound and reliable data on cancer prevention and care to identify trends, disparities and inequalities between Member States and regions. It is governed by European Commission services, the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE) and Directorate-General of the Joint Research Centre (DG JRC), together with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

EU Cancer Country Profiles
The EU Country Cancer Profiles series identifies strengths, challenges and specific areas of action for each of the 27 EU Member States, Iceland and Norway, to guide investment and interventions at the EU, national and regional levels under the Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.
Each EU Country Cancer Profile provides a short synthesis of the national cancer burden; risk factors for cancer, focusing on behavioural and environment risk factors; early detection programmes; cancer care performance, focusing on accessibility, care quality, costs and the impact of COVID-19 on cancer care.

HPV Cancer Prevention Index
The HPV Prevention Policy Atlas is a research project jointly led by the European Parliamentary Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Rights (EPF) and the European Cancer Organisation. It investigates how European public authorities perform across three key areas on the human papillomavirushuman papillomavirus (HPV): primary prevention, secondary prevention (screening) and online information.
The tool aims to provide up-to-date publicly available information across all countries of the WHO European region in line with the WHO Cervical Cancer Elimination Strategy and Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.

EONS Cancer Nursing Index
The EONS Cancer Nursing Index 2020 was developed by the EONS Advocacy Working Group to illustrate the development and status of nursing in Europe. The index (with scores from 0-100) includes 22 items covering the following dimensions: education and career development, patient and occupational safety, recognition, working conditions and impact and workforce.
To measure development and progress, EONS carried out an update: the European Cancer Nursing Index 2022.
