Chantal Friebertshaeuser

Senior Vice President & Managing Director, MSD Germany

Chantal Friebertshaeuser is the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of MSD Germany since March 2019. She sits on the Board of the German Association of Research-based Pharmaceutical Companies (vfa) and on the Board of the German American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham).

MSD is the trade name of Merck & Co. Inc. outside of the USA and Canada, headquartered in Rahway, USA. In Germany, the biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Munich, employs more than 2,300 people over 9 sites with focus on human and animal health.

Chantal started at MSD in Germany in 2007, and since then has held several roles of increasing responsibility within the company. This has included Managing Director of Austria, where she also served as Vice President of the Austrian Pharmig; and Associate Vice President in Global Vaccines. Prior to MSD she worked at Eli Lilly Pharma for 10 years.

Chantal is a French citizen and holds a diploma from the Business School ESC Rennes (France) and a Master of Arts in International Business from the Open University (UK).
