Jan van der Meulen is Professor of Clinical Epidemiology, Department of Health Services Research and Policy, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He studied medicine and completed a PhD in medical physics in 1989.
He has worked as a clinical epidemiologist, first in the Netherlands and since 1998 in the UK. His main fields of interest are the application of epidemiological, statistical and decision-analytical techniques to study the effectiveness and quality of care in the areas of cancer, surgery, and obstetrics and gynaecology.
