Jurgita is a Medical Doctor and serves as a Member of the Health Committee in the Seimas of Lithuania, Member of the Commission for Suicide and Violence Prevention, Vice Chair of the Provisional Group for the Nurturing of Life Sciences, Member of the Parliamentary Group for Development Cooperation and Reproductive Health and Rights. In addition, she serves as a Member of various Parliamentary and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Groups and as a Member of the Seimas Delegation to the Assembly of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Jurgita holds a medical degree from the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and has earned a specialization of a radiologist and nuclear medicine doctor at Vilnius University. Prior to becoming a Member of the Lithuanian Parliament, she spent more than 15 years serving at various healthcare institutions in Lithuania, including the Accident and Emergency Department in her hometown and the National Cancer Institute of Lithuania.
An avid advocate for patient well-being and adequate treatment of medical doctors, Jurgita supports various initiatives that aim to build a healthier society.
