Karam Adel

Karam Adel (BSc Hons, MSc) is Principal Expert Policy Coordination and Strategic Affairs in the Director’s Office at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). He has 15+ years’ experience working on public health policy issues within and around the EU institutions. For more than 10 years he worked on several strategic immunisation policy files, including on further developing ECDC’s scientific support to National Immunisation Technical Advisory Groups (NITAGs), which are responsible for advising national governments on vaccination strategies. Karam has also worked on programmatic issues aimed to provide evidence and guidance to EU Member States on how to increase the uptake of critical vaccines, such as HPV. At ECDC, he is responsible for day-to-day strategic work on key EU policy issues , including in close collaboration with other EU institutions.
