Lis Puga

Based in Germany and originally from Argentina, Lis is Director of Research & Patient Evidence and Research Manager for EuroACT at the European Patient Advocacy Institute (EPAI). Throughout her career, she has been passionate about translating research into evidence that improves patients' lives. She holds a PhD in Biochemistry, conducted research in Biophysics, and spent three years in the United States as a postdoctoral researcher, where she led two pilot clinical trials in diagnostics. Alongside her research career, she volunteered with several NGOs and hospitals. Before joining EPAI, she worked as an andrologist in a fertility clinic, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges faced by patients with oncological diseases navigating fertility care. Outside work, she proudly embraces her Argentinian roots: during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, she, her husband, and their wedding guests paused the celebrations to watch Argentina take on the Netherlands, and she is hoping Argentina can bring the World Cup home once again this year!
