Manan Shah

Lecturer, Global Health, Rutgers University & Vice President, Global Health Equity & Policy Partnerships, BMS

Manan Shah is Vice President of Global Health Equity & Policy Partnerships at Bristol Myers Squibb. He has over 15 years of US and international health policy, equity, advocacy, public affairs, and communications experience. Prior to BMS, Manan was Head of Global Public Affairs for LEO Pharma. Before that, Manan was at Biogen and Novo Nordisk in various US, regional and global roles including leading public affairs for emerging markets based in Switzerland.

He is currently a Lecturer at the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University and adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Health at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Schools of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and Public & Global Affairs. He has designed and currently teaches numerous courses including Social Determinants of Health, Politics & Public Health, and Issues in Global Health. Manan also serves on the Dean’s Council of Advisors for the School of International Service at American University and is a Strategic Advisor of the Rutgers Institute for Corporate Social Innovation. He serves on the boards of NYBIO and The Brain Donor Project and is a mentor at Rutgers University’s Road to Industry program.

Manan received his MBA from the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign, and Master of Public Affairs & Politics from Rutgers University. He also has completed post-graduate studies at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and the Institute of Engineering & Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge. He completed his undergraduate studies at American University.
