Rodica Mindruta-Stratan

Dr. Rodica Mindruta-Stratan is a surgical oncologist at the Institute of Oncology in the Republic of Moldova and a leading expert in cancer control, including childhood cancer control and head and neck oncology. She serves as Coordinator of the National Cancer Control Program and Chair of the Ministry of Health Committee in Oncology and Hematology. She has led the Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthetics Unit for more than 15 years and coordinates the Republic of Moldova’s participation in the European Network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres (EUNetCCC).

As a graduate of the NCCP iCAYA program, she has contributed to advancing childhood and adolescent cancer control and brings valuable expertise in strengthening multidisciplinary cancer care and national cancer control policies. She is also a member of the Euro Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) of the St. Jude Global Regional Program, contributing to international efforts aimed at improving childhood and adolescent cancer care and control.

Dr. Mindruta-Stratan also played an active role in the launch of the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer in September 2018, supporting the implementation of strategies to improve survival and quality of care for children with cancer.

She is also a member of the Republic of Moldova’s Negotiation Team for European Union accession, serving as the national expert responsible for the cancer control domain and contributing to the alignment of national cancer policies with the European Union acquis and standards.

Dr. Mindruta-Stratan is actively involved in several European cancer initiatives, including EUCanScreen, EUonQol, IMPACT-EU, and JANE2, and is a frequent speaker at international oncology conferences and policy forums. Her leadership and international experience have made her a key advocate for improving cancer care and outcomes for children and adults in the Republic of Moldova through national and European collaboration.
