Rossella Blasi is a senior executive with over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit and life sciences sectors, particularly in the management of human and financial resources. She brings a strong track record in organizational development, strategic planning, and operational excellence within research-driven environments.

Since January 2023, Rossella has been serving as Executive Director of the European School of Oncology (ESO), founded in Milan in 1982. In this role, she supports the CEO and oversees the coordination of the School’s operations across its Milan and Bellinzona offices. Her primary focus is on enhancing organizational growth, strengthening internal competencies, and advancing ESO’s mission of promoting high-quality oncology education. She is currently leading a corporate restructuring process aimed at aligning internal skills with strategic goals and improving service delivery.

Her career began at the European Institute of Oncology (IEO), after which she contributed to the creation of IFOM – the Institute of Molecular Oncology founded by FIRC – where she progressively advanced into senior roles. In 2016, she was appointed Chief Operating Officer of IFOM, managing a multidisciplinary team across HR, IT, Procurement, Facility, Grants, and R&D. During her tenure, she led several high-impact initiatives including the implementation of SAP, digital transformation projects, the construction of new laboratories, the development of a CSR report, and the rollout of a gender equality policy.

Rossella holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Sociology. She is also certified in Professional Coaching (ICF-accredited) and has completed extensive leadership and management training. Known for her strategic vision, people-centered leadership, and results-oriented approach, she thrives in complex, international, and mission-driven contexts.

In recognition of her professional achievements, she received the TopLegal Award in 2018 as HR Director of the Year.
