IMPACT

Coordinator: Ghent University

Objective: To improve treatment for patients with peritoneal metastases and malignant pleural effusion by evaluating aerosolised chemotherapy delivered directly into the abdominal or pleural cavity. The project will conduct three clinical trials and assess patient needs, quality of life, cost-effectiveness and implementation across European healthcare systems.

ECO’s Role: Work Package Leader for communication, dissemination and policy outreach, including the project’s branding, website, regular communications, policy engagement, policy briefs and final conference.

LiT-Met

Coordinator: University of Bologna

Objective: To generate evidence on whether liver transplantation can improve survival and quality of life for carefully selected patients with colorectal liver metastases. The project will combine clinical research, biomarkers, artificial intelligence, patient-reported outcomes and health-economic analysis to support personalised treatment decisions and future European recommendations.

ECO’s Role: Supporting stakeholder engagement, communication and the translation of the project’s findings into policy-relevant recommendations for the European cancer community.
