Pancare4AYA

Project duration: 1 April 2025 – 30 March 2030

Funded under Horizon Europe, PanCare4AYA is a pioneering project dedicated to improving long-term care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer survivors across Europe. These survivors face increased risk of long-term complications from their cancer treatments, which can severely affect their quality of life (QoL), mental health, and socio-economic stability. The project addresses these challenges by developing a new international guideline for screening and follow-up, implemented through the AYA Cancer Survivor Screen: a novel, person-centred screening programme.

This programme will be tested in an implementation study involving 1,000 survivors across 11 countries. It will assess not only clinical outcomes, but also patient empowerment, psychosocial wellbeing, and healthcare delivery in diverse settings. Innovative digital tools will support implementation in France, Italy, Lithuania, and the Netherlands.

ECO plays a key role in enhancing the project’s visibility and impact, driving stakeholder engagement, promoting collaboration within the Cancer Mission’s 'Quality of Life (AYA)' cluster, and strengthening dialogue with policymakers to advance AYA survivorship care across Europe. ECO is also contributing to communication and dissemination activities, supporting the creation of accessible materials, including brochures.

PanCare4AYA seeks to embed lasting improvements in care delivery and health outcomes for AYA cancer survivors and their families throughout Europe.
