Single-dose HPV vaccination offers strong protection against HPV cancers, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). This approach has been validated by the WHO's Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE), which reviewed evidence demonstrating that a single dose of the HPV vaccine is as effective as the traditional two- or three-dose regimens. This finding is particularly significant for expanding vaccine access, especially in low- and middle-income countries where cervical cancer rates are higher and healthcare resources are limited.

The fourth PROTECT-EUROPE Masterclass focused on single-dose HPV vaccination and the improved access to immunisation that this approach can bring to the table.
