Community 365 is a group of charity, philanthropy and industry contributors to the Focused Topic Networks of the European Cancer Organisation, as part of our Strategy 2020-2023. Community 365 provide ideas, guidance, practical support and resources for our work in convening stakeholders and building consensus in the European Cancer community.
For our first Community 365 Roundtable meeting, the topic of Inequalities was chosen, not least because of the importance placed on the subject by the EU Health Commissioner, Stella Kyriakides, in previous meetings with our Member Societies and Patient Advocacy Committee on the forthcoming Beating Cancer Plan.
Our President, Matti Aapro, will co-chair the meeting in two parts, together with Community 365 Contributor representatives and will include interventions from Sandra Gallina, Director-General at DG Sante, Enrique Soto, Older Adults Task Force of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and Kathy Oliver, Vice-Chair of our Patient Advisory Committee:
There will be opportunity for delegates to comment and contribute during each session. A Case for Action on Inequalities will be published after this Roundtable Meeting, based on the discussions and on the priorities of our Inequalities Network which includes the East-West Divide; Inequalities based on Gender, Ethnicity and Age; plus other Marginalised and Neglected Patient Groups.
