Matti Aapro, President of the European Cancer Organisation is co-chair of this two-hour meeting, together with colleagues from Community 365 for different sections of the meeting.
Yolande Lievens, Co-Chair of the new Essential Requirements on Quality Cancer Care: Lung Cancer presents a summary of the paper.
Including contributions from Irena Joveva MEP, Anne-Marie Baird, Lung Cancer Europe (LuCE) and Helmut Prosch, European Society of Radiology (ESR).
The focus for this session is the need for early diagnosis and screening in Lung Cancer, highlighting that now is the time to determine implementation roadmaps across Europe.
Matti Aapro co-chairs this section of the meeting with Françoise Bartoli, VP, Head of Europe and Canada, Oncology Business, AstraZeneca and includes a presentation by Giorgio Scagliotti, Professor of Oncology, University of Turin and Chief of the Medical Oncology Division at the S. Luigi Hospital.
This presentation will be followed by a discussion including Jan van Meerbeeck, European Respiratory Society (ERS), Frances Fitzgerald MEP, Helmut Prosch, European Society of Radiology (ESR) and Anne-Marie Baird, Lung Cancer Europe (LuCE).
This session is co-chaired by Matti Aapro and Geoff Oxnard, Vice President, Global Medical Lead, Liquid Franchise at Foundation Medicine and former Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. It focuses on Equitable access in Europe to multi-disciplinary molecular tumour boards and to high-quality Comprehensive Genomic Profiling based on NGS technology for lung cancer patients embedded in an appropriate infrastructure. It will include a presentation from Matthew Krebs, Clinical Senior Lecturer in Experimental Cancer Medicine, University of Manchester and Consultant in Medical Oncology, The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester, UK, followed by an open discussion including the Secretary General of the European Respiratory Society, Joanna Chorostowska.
The final session is co-chaired by Matti Aapro and Ouzna Morsli, EMEAC Oncology Medical Lead at MSD and will include a presentation on a case study on the importance of quality indicators from the Netherlands by Hans J.M. Smit, MD, PhD, Pulmonologist Rijnstate Hospital, Chairman of the Dutch Lung Cancer Audit, Arnhem, The Netherlands and Rawa Ismail, PharmD and PhD Candidate DICA.
This presentation will be followed by a discussion including Jan van Meerbeeck, European Respiratory Society (ERS), Helmut Prosch, European Society of Radiology (ESR) and Anne-Marie Baird, Lung Cancer Europe (LuCE).
