Call for Evidence: Economic and Societal Value of Cancer Control Interventions Across Europe
The European Cancer Organisation (ECO) is inviting the cancer community to contribute evidence on the economic and societal value of cancer control interventions across Europe.
Cancer results in massive economic losses across Europe, driven by healthcare costs, lost productivity, labour market disruption, and premature mortality. Beyond saving lives, cancer care generates crucial value for European economies and societies. As discussions on the future of EU cancer policy continue, bringing this evidence to the forefront is more important than ever.
As part of the Reach Higher for Cancer Care campaign, ECO is developing an investment case for cancer policy action. Contributions to this call for evidence will inform a dedicated report highlighting the economic and societal returns of investing in cancer control, which will be launched at the 2026 European Cancer Summit.
We want to hear from you
We welcome the submission of:
- Published information concerning cancer control interventions implemented, piloted, or evaluated at the population, regional, national, or health system level.
- Evidence spanning the full cancer pathway and related enabling areas, including prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment and care, survivorship, research and innovation, infrastructure and data systems, workforce, and interventions addressing inequalities.
