In Memoriam: Max Hengel 1977-2024

ECO is deeply saddened by the news of Max Hengel’s passing at the age of 47. As a member of the Luxembourg parliament, Hengel was an active member of the National & European Parliamentarians for Cancer Action group.

He passed away on 17 August.

Hengel had been public about his fight with bowel cancer. Earlier this year, he recorded a video message to mark World Cancer Day.

We thank him for his support and dedication to beating cancer at the European level. Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this difficult time.
