The first step in this EU co-funded project is the creation of a European questionnaire on quality of life experienced by cancer patients and survivors. Stakeholders, policymakers and co-researchers contributed to its design and development at the first EUonQoL Stakeholder Forum, held on 12 December 2023 and which included 111 participants.
Dr. Galina Velikova from the University of Leeds described the questionnaire's development process and methodology, and the various phases it will undergo over the lifetime of the project. She also explained that the questionnaire is divided in four categories, which participants of the Stakeholder Forum discussed during the breakout sessions. The four categories are: social health, overall health and healthcare, psychological well-being and physical health.
Furthermore, on 26 January 2024 the yearly General Assembly Meeting of the project took place, focusing on the main achievements from each WP during the project’s first year of life. Among these, the completion of the systematic reviews of existing QoL tools and dimensions, the first draft version of the EUonQoL kit, and the organisation of the cancer centres’ enrolment and sustainability plans.
Furthermore 2024, the EUonQoL project focused on e-data collection, with a pilot programme involving several cancer centres across Europe.
