ALTHEA

Coordinator: European Institute of Oncology (IEO)

Objective: The project seeks to improve the mental health of cancer patients and their families through a web-based platform. The platform will screen for psychological issues, including anxiety, depression, and cognitive impairment, offering tailored support to patients of all ages; paediatric, adolescent, and adult, as well as their caregivers.

ECO’s role: ECO leads the communication and dissemination of the project’s results, focusing on policy initiatives and engaging a community of stakeholders.

DESIPOC

Coordinator: Cyprus University of Technology (CUT)

Objective: DESIPOC aims to create a knowledge hub, virtual observatory, and training system to improve psychosocial oncology care, focussing on mental health screening, communication, and systemic barriers. It also uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, and behavioural science to deliver tailored interventions and inform policymaking in five Member States.

ECO’s role: ECO is responsible for engaging stakeholders to ensure the project's visibility and sustainability, in addition to working with policymakers and developing policy-oriented tools.

MELODIC

Coordinator: Turku University of Applied Sciences (TURKU UAS)

Objective: The MELODIC project improves mental health support for young adults with cancer and their caregivers through early detection, personalised interventions, and the training of healthcare professionals.

ECO’s role: ECO leads the development of policy recommendations on mental health and cancer in collaboration with UTU and helps organise the project's final event.
